Machine embroidery is a technique used by hobbyists and crafters to decorate all sorts of textiles, from quilts and pillows to wall hangings. It’s a fun and relaxing way to make your own unique soft furnishings, and on this course you’ll learn the basics of several different techniques.

Through the course you’ll work with your tutor to come up with ideas for your own creation that you’ll complete in class and take home with you at the end of the course.

So whether you already have a sewing machine at home and you’d like to be able to use it more creatively or you just want to try your hand at something new, this is the perfect opportunity to learn how to make your own unique craft items.

What will I learn?

On the course you will learn:

  • how to set the machine up and work safely
  • how to follow a pattern/ sketch on fabric
  • how to use free stitched pattern/sketch embroidery using free hand and standard machine settings
  • you will also plan and complete a project with stitched samples and inspirations to support ideas

Your tutor will advise you on what other materials you will need during the first session.

What could I do next?
