What are you doing to keep learners safe?

The safety of our learners and staff is our top priority and we’ve made some big changes to our centres, from socially-distanced training rooms to staggered start times. Although things will look different, our staff will be as friendly and helpful as ever and we’re really excited to welcome learners back.

If you’re concerned about visiting one of our centres, please get in touch so we can discuss it with you.

What do I need to join the course?

Just an enthusiasm to learn and a willingness to have a go. Please note that East Riding of Yorkshire Council is unable to guarantee a completely allergen free environment. If you would like more information prior to booking please contact us.

How will I be taught?

You will participate in both group demonstrations and work alongside the tutor to practise the skills and techniques of preparing and presenting these simple savoury suppers.

What will I learn?

Our tutor will guide you through the processes of preparing healthy savoury meals using basic cookery techniques. You will also learn some useful tips and tricks on how to present your dishes in a way that will tempt even the fussiest eater!

What could I do next?

Our cookery classroom opened at the Cottingham Adult Learning Centre in December 2018 and we are really excited to be able to offer a range of seasonal courses that appeal to cooks of all levels. Your tutor will discuss our range of cookery sessions with you and we will also ask you for your ideas of what you would like to see on offer in the future. Other sessions include bread making, making sweet treats, making soups, batch cooking, desserts, family cookery, speciality world cuisine, healthy eating, meals on a budget and pastry making.

Can we help you to learn?
