During this Conversational Spanish course we will be focussing on the theme of meeting and greeting. You will practise giving personal information, introducing yourself and your family and greeting people at different times of the day.

There are lots of reasons that you might choose to learn to speak Spanish, whether it be travel, employment, leisure, family connections or research. So if you’re heading to a Spanish speaking country on holiday or for business, or have Spanish family and friend connections and want to start to hold simple conversations, this beginner’s course is for you.

This course is part of our Conversational Spanish for beginners programme which will enable you to learn some basic Spanish on the theme of meeting and greeting. You can join at any stage of our programme.

What are you doing to keep learners safe?

The safety of our learners and staff is our top priority and we’ve made some big changes to our centres, from socially-distanced training rooms to staggered start times. Although things will look different, our staff will be as friendly and helpful as ever and we’re really excited to welcome learners back.

If you’re concerned about visiting one of our centres, please get in touch so we can discuss it with you.

What do I need to join the course?

Enthusiasm! No prior knowledge of Spanish is required to take part in this course.

What do I need to bring with me to the first session?

Please bring a notebook, a pen and a folder with you. We are following safety guidelines so, at the moment, we are unable to provide these for you.

How will I be taught?

You will be taught in a mixture of Spanish and English from the beginning and will be encouraged to speak in Spanish from week one. There will be group and individual tasks and suggestions made of ways to practise away from sessions.

What will I learn?

During the course you will learn to hold basic conversations in Spanish on a range of topics such as ordering different types of food, giving personal information, introducing yourself and your family and greeting people at different times of the day.

What could I do next?

Once you’ve attended this course you’ll be in a position to decide whether you wish to continue to learn more about Spanish. If so then you may wish to progress to the next step that will cover topics such as directions, food and booking accommodation. Your tutor will give you more information about this in the session.

If you want to try a different subject then we offer a range of opportunities in computer skills, English, maths, employability, creative skills, retail, photography, Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools (STLS), etc.
