Course details

Do you have one goal in life that you wish you could accomplish? What is it that is holding you back from achieving it? Whether you want to make changes to your lifestyle, work, finances or other areas of your life or work, this two hour course will provide a starting point for transformation to begin.

Along with our experienced tutor and inspiration from other learners you will learn how to set goals for yourself, how to create strategies to overcome any setbacks on your journey and where to start in creating your own personal action plan.

The course will also ensure that you are aware of how further study in this area will provide you with an opportunity to develop a broad range of soft skills that will further improve their employment prospects and personal development.

What do I need to join the course?

You don’t need any knowledge of the subject or previous experience. Just an interest and enthusiasm to learn!

What do I need to bring with me to the first session?

Please bring along a notebook and a pen. We are following safety guidelines so, at the moment, we are unable to provide these for you.

How will I be taught?

You will be taught and supported by an experienced and enthusiastic tutor, take part in a range of activities including demonstrations, group and individual work and receive support for your own ideas.

What will I learn?

On the course you will learn:

  • how to identify barriers that are stopping you achieving your goals;
  • strategies for achieving your long-term goals;
  • how to construct a practical plan of action to achieve your goals.

What could I do next?

This course does not naturally lead onto a longer course, however if you feel that you need more support in this area, our mental toughness and resilience course may be the right next step for you. Your course tutor will discuss this with you in the session as well as any other health and wellbeing courses that may be available to you. You may want to consider mindfulness, self-esteem and confidence building or any of our arts, crafts, and creative courses.

Can we help you to learn?

You can find more information on the Financial help and additional support page or you can contact us to talk about this and any other support we can provide.
