It is an essential skill for a leader to be able to manage the performance of team members. Performance management is the process of monitoring and enhancing the performance of both individuals and organisations. As a manager it’s important that you can set clear expectations about the work an organisation requires the employee to do. Being able to link the everyday work of employees with the overall strategic goals of the organisation via their objectives, setting performance standards and ensuring that everyone is pulling in the same direction and working together to achieve successful outcomes.

This course covers; the importance of setting performance standards for a team member through the use of SMART targets, the value of receiving and giving feedback effectively to improve performance, and how to manage underperformance.

What do I need to join the course?

No prior subject knowledge required.

In order to join this eLearning course you will need:
A reliable internet connection, a computer/Laptop/Tablet/Smartphone, you may also choose to use a headset or earphones with a microphone attachment. You may also wish to have a notepad and pen available for making any notes. You should ensure that you have a suitable place to study that is free from any distractions.

What do I need to provide for the first session?

Commit to completing all elements of the eLearning module including the activities and assessments. Application of your learning into the workplace are essential to strengthening your day to day practice.

How will I be taught?

The e-learning module will comprise of information, activities and assessments. You should allow at least two hours to complete the e-learning activity and sufficient time to implement and practice the learning and activities to consolidate learning.
