In order to join this eLearning course you will need: A reliable internet connection, a webcam / camera and a computer/Laptop/Tablet/Smartphone, you may also choose to use a headset or earphones with a microphone attachment. You may also wish to have a notepad and pen available for making any notes. You should ensure that you have a suitable place to study that is free from any distractions. There is a downloadable quiz (which you may wish to print) but this is not essential (if you are without access to a printer). Being free from everyday workplace distractions such as email will help.
Ensure you have pen and paper or a digital device to take notes on during the course (such as a phone or tablet).
A link to access the course on the eLearn platform will be sent to you once your enrolment to the course is confirmed.
The eLearning course is interactive and includes a range of cases, exercises, a quiz and assessments (to help you build both knowledge and confidence).
Learning can be accessed as a single session (around 3-4 hours) or spaced flexibly over time (e.g. an hour a week).
The course will introduce you to the skills needed to lead and motivate teams, including how to ensure that the work of individuals and teams align to the aims and goals of your service area / the organisation.
You will be encouraged to reflect on performance, at both a team and strategic level and you will learn how to develop good communication skills and why they are integral to managing teams.
As part of the eLearning you will have the opportunity to undertake a diagnosis quiz (to improve self-awareness of your communication approach).
Your learning will include leading theories and models and will also suggest some practical approaches for how you can get the best from people in your team.
