The safety of our learners and staff is our top priority and we’ve made some big changes to our centres, from socially-distanced training rooms to staggered start times. Although things will look different, our staff will be as friendly and helpful as ever and we’re really excited to welcome learners back.
If you’re concerned about visiting one of our centres, please get in touch so we can discuss it with you.
You should already have some basic photography skills. Whilst you may benefit from having attended the getting started with photography skills course, this is not essential.
You will need a notebook and pen. You should also bring your own digital camera (DSLR, bridge or manual compact camera).
You will be taught and supported by an experienced and enthusiastic photography tutor, take part in a range of activities including demonstrations, group and individual work and receive support for your own ideas.
During this course you will learn about colour balance and metering modes and their effect on compositions. You will also learn about the benefits of different focusing modes along with how to take photographs in low lighting.
You may wish to develop your skills further with our Moving on with photography skills course. Your tutor will provide more information about this at the end of your course. You may also consider the Photography level 1 award or to go on to some of our other Adult Learning courses such as knitting, dressmaking, pattern making, flower arranging and mindfulness or computer skills, English, maths and employability courses.
You can find more information on the Financial help and additional support page or you can contact us to talk about this and any other support we can provide.
