Who doesn’t love a rich chocolatey sponge with a gooey chocolate middle? Or perhaps you might prefer a lovely fresh apple Tarte Tatin? If either of these tempt your taste buds then come along to this cookery session and learn how to make your own delicious desserts.

During this session you will learn more about the nutritional and cost benefits of homemade cooking, you will take home what you make and receive recipe cards for the items you have cooked so that you are ready to make these again at home.

What will I learn?

Our tutor will guide you through the processes of preparing and assembling these delicious desserts. You will also learn some useful tips and tricks to impress your guests with your presentation skills.

What do I need to join the course?

Just an enthusiasm to learn and a willingness to have a go.

What do I need to provide for the first session?

Please bring an apron with you and containers with lids to take home what you make.  You will also need to bring with you the following ingredients:

  • 40g plain flour
  • 250g dark chocolate
  • 170g unsalted butter
  • 150g all butter puff pastry
  • Optional flavours: zest and juice of 1 x orange, griottines cherries, black cherries
  • 3 dessert apples (about 1lb/450g), such as Braeburn, Cox’s Orange Pippin or Adam’s Pearmain
  • You may wish to bring a 8inch round tin to bake your tarte tatin, however, foil tins will be provided if not
