Carers awareness (INTE00064)

Online Course
  • This is an East Riding Council staff course. If you are not a member of staff, you will not be able to apply or enrol to this course.

Course details

Unpaid and informal carers make a vital contribution to our community and provide essential support to the person or persons they care for/support. Caring for a family member or friend can come with a mental, emotional, and physical toll, and carers are often unaware of the support that is available to them or even recognise themselves as a carer (hidden carer’).

This course will give you an insight into the impact that caring could be having on your friends, family, colleagues or your team members. It will also help you to recognise the signs of someone that could be a ‘hidden’ carer and may need additional support.

Whether you want an understanding of signs that someone may be struggling with a ‘hidden’ carer role, you have a colleague or friend that needs support, or if you’re a carer yourself and would like to know more about the support and help available, this course is the ideal starting point.
