So if you’ve got a little experience writing poetry (our Getting Started with Poetry course is an ideal starting point) and would like to start learning more about the mechanics of poetry, and different techniques that you can use, then this is the course for you.
As well as learning about different elements of poetry from our friendly, experienced tutor, you’ll get to workshop your ideas with other learners, develop new techniques and hone your poetry skills.
It would be useful, but not essential, for you to have attended our Getting started with Poetry course.
Bring something to write with and on, notebook and pen, laptop, tablet etc.
You will be taught in a small, friendly group by our enthusiastic and experienced tutor. You will explore poets and poetry that demonstrate the concepts you are learning. The sessions are interative and will produce your poetry through a workshop environment. You will be able to share your poetry with your peers and give/receive feedback.
The two hour sessions are divided into one hour of new knowledge/learning, and one hour of a poetry workshop environment for learners to apply, practice and also share for peer review/feedback.
