The safety of our learners and staff is our top priority and we’ve made some big changes to our centres, from socially-distanced training rooms to staggered start times. Although things will look different, our staff will be as friendly and helpful as ever and we’re really excited to welcome learners back.
If you’re concerned about visiting one of our centres, please get in touch so we can discuss it with you.
You don’t need any previous experience, just a willingness to come and take part.
We recommend that you bring a notebook and a pen. If you have your own laptop with Microsoft Word software installed, you are welcome to bring it.
This course will be delivered by a friendly and experienced tutor in one of our computer suites. This hands-on session will include demonstrations as well as group activities and individual exercises.
During this session you will participate in some basic word processing activities to get you started using Microsoft Word. The session will introduce you to Word and will include opening the Word application, typing in a document, changing styles and sizes and adding images. The tutor will explain how these digital skills can benefit you at home and/or work, and what else you could learn on a follow on course.
Once you’ve attended this course you’ll be in a position to decide whether you wish to continue to learn more about the subject and perhaps sign up to our ‘computers for complete beginners’ or ‘computers for improvers’ courses. Alternatively if an accredited qualification is something you aspire to then enrolling on our ‘improve your computer and digital skills’ courses would be a great starting point If you want to try a different subject then we offer a range of opportunities in English, maths, employability, creative skills, retail, photography, supporting teaching and learning in schools (STLS) and much more.
