Over four weeks, you’ll design, plan and complete your own unique project – learning exciting new skills along the way. You might choose to make a cushion cover, a table runner, gift cards, wall hangings or even modify a piece of clothing – the possibilities are endless.
You’ll learn how to use a wider range of materials and scale and try out new techniques like bobbin work, couching, appliqué, specialist threads and twin and triple needle techniques.
Your tutor will help and guide you through the new processes you’re learning, enabling you to bring your creative ideas into reality and leaving you with the skills to work on your own projects in the future.
You must be aged 19 or over: ideally you should have completed our developing your machine embroidery skills course, however, this is not essential if you already have basic skills in machine embroidery.
Some resources are included in the cost of your course; your tutor will advise you of any other materials you may need once you have decided on your individual project.
You will be taught and supported by an experienced tutor and will take part in a range of activities including demonstrations, group and practical individual work. You will be able to take home what you make!
After completing this course you may wish to progress on to one of our other creative courses such as dressmaking, pottery, Art, interior design, drawing and painting etc. There are also a range of other courses that you may be interested in such as computer and ICT, English, maths and employability skills.
