As part of our support of Ukraine we are offering help to those who have left their home country in order to find safety in our area.
If you are hosting a Ukrainian refugee these FREE informal sessions are ideal for you and your guest(s).
We will show you and your guests ways to improve your mutual communication and understanding and so support their resettlement and integration.
The sessions will mostly consist of conversation around specific areas of ‘survival’ English such as personal info, Health and safety, public transport etc.
Your guests will have the opportunity to observe and listen to the hosts talk and discuss with them their interests, where they are from, what their hometowns are like etc.
All you need is a desire to improve your communication skills
It would be helpful to bring a notebook and a pen.
The session will be delivered in English from the beginning. Host families and their guests will take part in paired and group discussions. Guests will be encouraged to speak in English, with the tutor’s help they will work on their communication skills.
You will talk about:
There are lots of courses available that include a range of topics that you may want to learn more about. Towards the end of this course you and your tutor will decide what is the best next step for you.
