You’ll learn how to make beautiful, unique patchworks that are ideal for gifts, mementos or just to keep you warm on long winter nights. You’ll get to build on the skills you’ve already developed with techniques like appliqué, quilting and embroidery, and you’ll learn how to work with complex shapes and art patchwork panels.
By the end of the course you’ll have completed your own unique piece – but more importantly you’ll have learnt new skills to incorporate into your own projects.
You must be aged 19 or over. You may benefit from having attended the Developing Patchwork course.
You may like to bring your own sewing essentials but basic resources will be provided and covered by your course fee.
You will be taught and supported by an experienced tutor and will take part in a range of activities including group work and individual work. You may wish to carry out work outside the classroom to help you practise and apply the skills and knowledge that you have gained.
On the course you will learn:
Your tutor will discuss with you how you may develop your skills further. You may also consider some of our other Adult Learning courses such as dressmaking, machine embroidery, mindfulness and photography or computer skills, English, maths and employability courses.
