Course details

Do you wish that you had more confidence in your digital abilities and want to improve your essential everyday digital skills? Do you struggle to use your mobile or computer and find that sometimes you are unsure of what steps to take to complete a task, such as replying to an email or finding something online? If so, then this course will give you the support you need to develop your essential digital skills required for everyday tasks, allowing you to build your confidence and gain a qualification to show off your skills.

Our Improve your computer and digital skills classes are focused 11-week programmes to enable you to boost your digital skills and to gain a nationally recognised Essential Digital Skills qualification at Entry Level and Level 1.

You’ll start your learning by coming along to an informal Achieve your digital goals session, where you’ll meet one of our tutors, discuss what it is you want to achieve and do some skills checks to help you to decide your next steps. Depending on your current level of skill, this may involve spending more time in the Achieve your digital goals sessions to build your skills and confidence before moving on into the Improve your Computer and Digital skills qualification course.

To support you to achieve your qualification there is an expectation that you will complete a minimum of one hour of independent study per week to ensure that you are ready for your assessments; your tutor will discuss this with you and ensure that you have the support you need to achieve your goals.

What are you doing to keep learners safe?

The safety of our learners and staff is our top priority and we’ve made some big changes to our centres, from socially-distanced training rooms to staggered start times. If you choose to attend one of our classrooms in a centre then things will look different, but our staff will be as friendly and helpful as ever and are really excited to welcome learners back. Of course, if you choose to attend our virtual classroom from home, then that is fine too. Our staff and tutors have been really busy over the last few months ensuring that we can provide you will the same quality of teaching and learning virtually as we do in the classroom.

If you’re concerned about visiting one of our centres, please get in touch so we can discuss it with you.
