Course details

The benefits of volunteering can be huge, both for the person volunteering and for the organisation they are working with- from the satisfaction of making a positive difference to gaining valuable experience for seeking employment. On this free two-hour course, you will gain an understanding of the main principles of volunteering, gain an overview of our Level 1 Award in Volunteering and make a decision as to whether to undertake further learning in this learning area.

What will I learn?

You will look at the fundamental principles of volunteering, explore the course content of the Level 1 Award in Volunteering and make a decision as to whether to progress to further learning in this subject area.

If you are looking for work or aiming for a change of role, then your tutor will also make you aware of the employability programmes we have available to support you in achieving your employment goals.

What do I need to join the course?

Just an enthusiasm to learn! No experience is needed.

What do I need to provide for the first session?

You may find it useful to have a notebook and pen to make notes

What could I do next?

Your tutor will discuss the options with you during the course : you may wish to progress to our Level 1 or Level 2 Awards in Volunteering. We also offer course in maths, English or Digital Skills.
