Employability Skills qualifications are especially designed to support an individual successfully gain a job, progress in a chosen field, prepare for further study and support the development of the skills required for successful independent living.

City and Guilds qualifications have been designed in collaboration ‘with a range of experts from various industry sectors, training providers and employment and recruitment professionals to ensure the content matches what is needed and valued by today’s employment market’ (CITY AND GUILDS). The course should assist you in standing out from other applicants.

You will work with your tutor to complete a portfolio. You will have the opportunity to work on the following units:

  • Recognising Employment Opportunities

As well as working in groups, you will benefit from regular time working with your tutor, discussing your progress and planning your next steps. They will also tell you about all of the other great opportunities that you have access to including help with developing your skills, joining one of our creative skills classes or sessions to improve your health, wellbeing, confidence or resilience. If you are looking for work or aiming for a change of role, then your tutor will also make you aware of the employability programmes we have available to support you in achieving your employment goals.

What do I need to join the course?

You need to be working at L1 or L2 to undertake this programme of learning.

What do I need to provide for the first session?

The course is for those who want to progress into employmet and are needing assistance to overcome barriers and secure that employment opportunity.

What could I do next?

The course is designed to support clients into employment. There is the opportunity to undertake further learning to enhance your skills and further support you into employment through ERYC or alternative providers.
