Managing blood sugar is the key to living well with diabetes, and eating well is the key to managing blood sugar.

Healthy foods in the right amounts at the right times and keeping active will help you to ensure your blood sugar stays in your target range as much as possible. It will also help you control your weight and generally feel better.

In this session you will create a diabetic friendly three course option: turkey meatball laksa, berry mousse and flourless chocolate cookies- healthy dishes for the whole family to enjoy!

What will I learn?

In this session you will make:

  • Turkey meatball laksa
  • Berry mousse
  • Flourless Chocolate Cookies

You will also be given useful tips on presentation, nutrition and money saving!

What do I need to join the course?

Just some basic cooking skills and an enthusiasm to learn!

What do I need to provide for the first session?

Please bring an apron with you and the following ingredients:

Turkey meatball laksa

  • 250g pack turkey breast mince
  • 1 lime or lemon, ½ zested and juiced, the rest cut into wedges
  • 2 tbsp Thai red curry paste
  • 100ml lighter coconut milk
  • 40g Tenderstem broccoli, trimmed
  • 40g mangetout

Berry mousse

  • 200g (1 1/2 cups) frozen raspberries
  • 300g (1 1/3 cups) fat-free cottage cheese

Flourless Chocolate Cookies

30g dark chocolate chips or chunks, chopped
