This course would be ideal if you are wanting to find out the basics about how to use your computer, including how to use a mouse and keyboard. This course aims to help you with taking the first step into the digital world and will help you to improve your confidence in using a computer.

This session will teach you to recognise the different parts of the computer and how to power it on and off. You will explore the different ways that you can use the mouse and keyboard to help you to make your way around the computer screen and use different applications. If you want to make that first step to improving your digital skills, why not come along and learn something new with one of our friendly tutors?

What will I learn?

On this course, you will learn:

  • How to turn a computer on and off.
  • How to use a mouse and/or track pad to move around the computer screen.
  • How to use a keyboard to type, including using special characters and capital letters.
  • How to open and close applications.
  • How to continue practise at home; your tutor will share some excellent websites that can be used to improve your mouse and keyboard skills.
