Do you want to create a better system for managing your files and folders on your computer? Can you already create simple folders but want to learn how to do this even better? Then this Managing Files and Folders on Your Computer: Exploring course could be for you! On this course, you will learn about creating a folder hierarchy by creating subfolders. You will also learn some tips and tricks for reorganising your files and moving them around.

At the end of this session, you will be able to organise your files and folders much more confidently by creating a system that works for you. This will help to improve your organisational skills in your personal and working lives.

What will I learn?

On this course, you will learn:

  • How to create a folder hierarchy through using subfolders.
  • How to move/copy files and folders for better organisation.
  • How to compress files/folders to save storage space.

What do I need to join the course?

A willingness to learn and a positive attitude! You should understand a little bit about the basics of using a computer. If you want to develop these basic skills, you could attend our Getting To Grips With Using Your Computer course and our Managing Files and Folders On Your Computer: Discovery first. This course is suitable for if you would like to learn how to have better file management systems.

What do I need to provide for the first session?

There is nothing specific that you need to provide for your first session, but you might find it helpful to bring a notebook and pen to make some notes to help with your learning.
