If English is not your first language, sign up to this free single session course for the opportunity to improve your number skills in the English language.

This session focuses on developing your vocabulary in relation to numbers and maths. You’ll start with reading a range of numbers in English and then move on to using number skills in everyday life, such as reading times, prices and measurements. Next, you’ll explore the language of maths in relation to the basic calculations you may carry out in your day-to-day life at home and at work.

You’ll be in a small, friendly class, where you’ll focus on improving your number skills. You’ll have lots of opportunities to take part in speaking and listening activities and to improve your ability to read, write and understand numbers in English.

What will I learn?

In this session, you will learn:

  • How to read a range of numbers in English, including 100s and 1000s;
  • Key vocabulary for everyday maths, such as working with time, money and measurements;
  • Mathematical language for carrying-out and understanding completed calculations.
