Time spent being creative for its own sake can be a great way to relieve stress, build your confidence and give you a sense of success. But as adults we focus too much on the results rather than the process, setting ourselves unrealistic expectations and making ourselves feel bad when we fail to meet them.
On this session, you’ll learn about the Mandala – a geometric design based around circles and symmetry – that holds a great deal of symbolism in Hindu and Buddhist cultures.
You’ll also spend time learning about the process used to create a mandala, focusing on the techniques and tools used to create your own unique design which is instantly recognizable as a mandala. There is no wrong way to create your personal mandala, so you’ll be able to concentrate on the skills that you are using rather than worrying about the end result.
By the end of the session, you’ll have created your own mandala. More importantly you’ll leave with the skills and knowledge to continue creating at home, as a way to find some essential calm in your day-to-day life.
On this short course you will briefly explore the origins of Mandala art – look at some of the more famous images and artists and then, with tutor support, have a go at creating your own Mandala influenced art image to take home with you.
The course fee is displayed at the top of this page.
