This class is for learners who already speak some English and want to improve. You will practise speaking and listening at a higher level, using more vocabulary and longer sentences. The class will help you use English in real-life situations like work, education, and the community.

This course is a good next step after a beginners ESOL class or if you feel confident with basic English.

What will I learn?

In this class, you will:

  • Take part in longer conversations and group discussions
  • Practise giving opinions, asking for help, and sharing ideas
  • Use new words and phrases to talk about different topics
  • Improve your listening and understanding of natural speech

By the end of the course, you will be able to:

  • Speak clearly and with more confidence in everyday situations
  • Understand and respond to longer spoken English
  • Use English to talk about your life, work, and plans
  • Feel more ready to move on to higher-level ESOL or other courses

How much will it cost?

This course is FREE.

This course is supported by Tailored Learning funding, with the aim of helping you to develop your essential skills.
