Do you have dyspraxia (also known as development co-ordination disorder (DCD)), or know someone who does? Do you want to learn about dyspraxia to be able to help yourself or others, or are you just curious to learn more what it actually is? If you’d like to find out more, sign up to this three-hour session to gain an understanding of this neurodiverse condition and learn all about how it can affect individuals in terms of their life, learning and work. You’ll come away with an understanding of the traits associated with dyspraxia, as well as an awareness of the help and support that is available to children and adults who have been diagnosed with this neurodivergent condition.
You will learn about a range of traits associated with living with dyspraxia and how these can affect individuals differently. With an emphasis on raising awareness and understanding, you’ll find out how to go about gaining a diagnosis and you’ll learn about a range of strategies that individuals might find helpful to use for coping with dyspraxia in different aspects of their daily lives. You’ll explore the different kinds of help and support that are available for both adults and children, so you can come away with a greater understanding of this neurodivergent condition and how you can go about accessing support for yourself, or for others with or without a diagnosis.
The course fee is displayed at the top of this page.
This course is supported by Tailored Learning funding with an aim of developing stronger communities, therefore a fee concession may be available dependent on your circumstances.

If you choose to learn with us you will be supported by our dedicated staff, learn in small, friendly and welcoming groups and will have the opportunity to take part in a range of activities. You’ll be encouraged to continue to apply what you’ve learned when you’re away from the classroom and you’ll receive lots of encouragement and feedback to help you build your knowledge and confidence.
Our team will be there to support you at every step of your journey and we always welcome your feedback to help us to ensure that you always feel safe, happy, supported and welcome.
You don’t need any knowledge of neurodiversity or dyspraxia at all, just an interest in learning about this subject area.
We recommend that you bring a notebook and a pen.
You may progress to one or more of our other short neurodiversity courses, such as Understanding Neurodiversity, Understanding Dyslexia, Understanding ADHD or Understanding Autism Spectrum Disorder.
You might also like to learn about mental health by enrolling on one of our qualifications, such as the Level 1 Award in Mental Wellbeing, Level 1 Award in Mental Health Awareness or Level 2 Certificate in Awareness of Mental Health Problems.
Alternatively, you may decide to explore our wider course offer, which includes subjects like mindfulness, mental toughness and confidence building, as well as qualifications in English, maths and digital skills.
You can find more information on the Financial help and additional support page or you can contact us to talk about this and any other support we can provide.
