Are you looking for fun and engaging ways to explore the magical world of storytelling with your child? Join us for this free session where you’ll embark on a whimsical storytelling adventure together!

In this free family-friendly session, you and your child will:

  • Develop exciting characters and captivating storylines
  • Learn how to use Scratch to bring your stories to life
  • Create adorable felt finger puppets to retell your tales

What will I learn?

On this course you will learn about how to create stories and bring them to life with your child. You will learn about how to create new characters and exciting storylines to tell original, fascinating stories, and you will learn the skills you need to create finger puppets and create animations to retell the stories that you create.

How much will it cost?

This course is funded through Tailored Learning with the purpose of supporting children’s learning. Through this funding, we can offer the course free of charge.

As well as working in groups, you will benefit from regular time working with your tutor, discussing your progress and planning your next steps. They will also tell you about all of the other great opportunities that you have access to including help with developing your skills, joining one of our creative skills classes or sessions to improve your health, wellbeing, confidence or resilience. If you are looking for work or aiming for a change of role, then your tutor will also make you aware of the employability programmes we have available to support you in achieving your employment goals.

Our team will be there to support you at every step of your journey and we always welcome your feedback to help us ensure that you feel safe, happy, supported and welcome.

What do I need to join the course?

No experience is necessary! Just bring your imagination and a willingness to get stuck in!

This course is suitable for parents/carers/guardians and their children aged between 5 and 11 years of age. Please note that children must be supervised by their parents/carers/guardians at all times.

What do I need to provide for the first session?

All resources will be provided for the session.
