Preservation is a perfect way to avoid food waste and save money. Don’t throw away the apples from your tree because you can’t face another apple crumble or the berries you collected (or bought with good intentions) that have started to go a bit soft. Make them into tasty chutneys and jams.

During this session you will find out how to make a variety of different chutneys, jams and preserves and understand more about preservation. You will also learn more about the nutritional and cost benefits of homemade cooking, take home what you make and receive recipe cards for the items you have cooked so that you are ready to make these again at home.

What will I learn?

Our tutor will guide you through the process of sterilising your jars and then preparing and making jams and chutneys, giving you the confidence and skills needed to make this again at home, You will also learn some useful tips and tricks on how to present your dishes and also learn about the nutritional and cost benefits of home cooking.

How much will it cost?

The cost is displayed at the top of the page.
