If you enjoy creative writing and would like to challenge yourself to explore a new style or theme by exploring murder mystery genre, then this single session course could be the opportunity you’ve been looking for to try something new and to step out of your comfort zone.
In this session you’ll come together as a group to share your thoughts and experiences of murder mystery stories and to consider the similarities and differences between how these stories are told in literature and on the screen. Your tutor will then guide you to develop your understanding of setting, plot, location and character within the murder mystery theme. When you’ve had time to gather your thoughts and to experiment with writing in the murder mystery genre, you’ll get an opportunity to share your work with the rest of the group and to give and receive constructive feedback with like-minded others.
This session aims to explore a specific type of creative writing that you may or may not have considered before, so come along and be inspired to try something new!

This is an intermediate-level creative writing course. To get the most out of your session, you should have some experience of creative writing, be interested in expanding your knowledge even further and be willing to put pen to paper in the session.
We recommend that you bring your preferred writing equipment, such as a notebook and a pen.
