Every year in the UK, we throw out 300,000 tonnes of old clothes and less than a fifth of used clothing is recycled in the UK. To help the planet AND save yourself some money why not repair, reuse, and reimagine your existing clothes using basic hand sewing techniques?
Don’t worry if you don’t have a sewing machine or you can’t hand sew! On this course we will show you how to sew by hand to adapt and restyle your clothes and household items into on trend pieces.
You’ll learn some basic hand sewing stitches and, in the process of doing so, create an upcycled item to your own unique design.
We’ll show you how to use basic hand sewing stitches and techniques to upcycle an existing piece and create a unique, upcycled item.
