Are you looking to improve your understanding and use of number skills in your daily life, at home and at work? If so, then Multiply: Confidence in Numbers at Home could be the opportunity you are looking for.

This bitesize eLearning course aims to build on your existing knowledge, increasing your confidence through a range of task examples that use number skills in everyday situations. There is no final assessment, you answer multiple-choice questions throughout the course and can participate at your own pace. The estimated duration of the full course is 2 – 2.5 hours.

This course is eligible for learners who do not have a level 2 (GCSE or equivalent ) qualification in Maths, or for those who do have but need to refresh skills and understanding to build confidence to use numbers at that level in life and work.

What will I learn?

The subjects areas that will be covered in this eLearning course include:

  • Cooking and using recipes
  • Set and keep to a budget for a weekly shop
  • Manage diet and nutrition
  • Measure medicine doses
  • Plan journeys

What do I need to join the course?

This course is eligible for learners that do not have GCSE or level 2 equivalent in Maths, or have a level 2 qualification but need to improve confidence and/or refresh understanding of number skills. To enquire if you are eligible for the course please contact one of our Adult Learning Centres and speak to one of our Customer Information Assistants.

What do I need to provide for the first session?

For this piece of eLearning, you will require the use of a computer with audio to participate.

What could I do next?

When you’ve completed your learning, you will have the opportunity to discuss your next steps with our team. You might choose to continue improving your Maths, by working towards the next level of qualification, or moving on to a related subject, such as creative writing or poetry.

You might choose instead to develop your English or digital skills or to work towards a qualification in these areas. Alternatively, you may decide to learn about mental health, neurodiversity or employability skills or explore our wider course offer, which includes topics such as photography, arts and crafts and mindfulness.
