Cooking nutritious meals on a budget and getting the most you can from every ingredient is a challenge.

In this session our experienced tutor will show you how to use store cupboard recipes to make cost effective choices to maximise your spending.

In this session our experienced tutor will demonstrate how to create a weekly food budget, building a basic store cupboard of ingredients to create delicious and nutritious meals for the whole family. You will follow simple recipes that use store cupboard basics and work in our kitchen to cook dishes to take home. In this session you will make a versatile pasta and and sauce, a base for a stew or curry, hotdog and potato hash and a fruit sponge cake.

Store cupboard cookery is a great way to shop on a budget, and useful if you ver run out of fresh ingredients we hope to inspire you with ideas to get the best out of your store-cupboard staples.

What will I learn?

You will learn how to:

  • create a weekly food budget
  • create a store cupboard of useful staple ingredients
  • make delicious meals using cheap and versatile store cupboard ingredients
