Mexican folk art is traditionally created by indigenous people with no formal art training. It’s usually made anonymously and identified only by the region or group from which it originated. Bright and colourful, with an array of styles and textures the creations would often have practical as well as decorative uses.

On this course you’ll get to explore the history and techniques of Mexican folk art and look at famous examples. You’ll then spend time experimenting with colour, texture, and pattern to create your own unique piece of art to take home and keep.

What will I learn?

On this short course you will briefly explore the origins of Mexican folk art – look at some of the more famous images and artists from this time and then, with tutor support, have a go at creating your own Mexican influenced art image to take home with you.

How much will it cost?

The cost of this course is visible at the top of this page.
