We use numeracy every day in all areas of our lives. Our confidence and ability with numbers impacts us financially, socially, professionally and even our health and wellbeing. If you are looking to build both your number confidence and skills to help you manage your money and know where to get the right support from, this course might be the perfect option for you.
On the “Let’s Talk Money: Confidence in Numbers” session you will work with a tutor to look at ways in which you may be able to make savings on a weekly/monthly basis.
You will also look at how to use everyday maths such as reading timetables, comparing costs for travel and work out how to get the best deal on your weekly shop by learning how to compare prices at different supermarkets to get the best value.
You will learn about managing payments, understanding priority and non-priority debt and what support is available to help you with your finances. You will be provided a resource pack that includes guidance and resources from the sessions for you to take home.
In Let’s Talk Money - Confidence in Numbers aims to improve your number confidence and skills. You’ll work with the tutor to learn how to understand your personal finances, manage a budget, make the most of your money and where to access support.
In the session you will identify how you feel about numeracy, ease anxieties, boost confidence by discovering ways in which you may be able to make savings on your grocery bills, the best online deals, how to reduce the amount of food you waste, using the 4 standard operations and developing estimation skills to approximate.
You will leave feeling more confident in your own number skills and have an understanding of how to look after your money and how to manage debt.
If you have enjoyed learning with us, you can decide whether you want to continue improving your numeracy skills with some of our maths qualifications or explore our wider offer to meet your needs.
