This course builds confidence and provides a solid foundation in digital skills, making it easier to navigate everyday tasks and decisions in a tech-driven world. You’ll learn how to use devices, manage digital information, communicate online, and stay safe on the internet. Explore creating digital content, solving common tech problems, and using online tools effectively. With a strong focus on real-world applications, the course makes learning relevant and meaningful. Engage in group activities and discussions, benefit from peer support, and enjoy a collaborative learning experience that strengthens both your skills and your confidence.
If you’re aged 19 or over and live in the East Riding or surrounding area, you can most likely join this course for free. Tailored Learning courses are fully funded for adults who want to build confidence, improve wellbeing, or take steps towards learning, volunteering, or work. We’ll check your eligibility when you enrol, but in most cases, there’s no cost to you.
At East Riding Adult Learning and Employability we pride ourselves on the support we give to our learners, from the very first time you contact us, to the day you achieve your goals.
If you choose to join this course you will be supported by our dedicated staff, learn in a small friendly and welcoming group, have the opportunity to take part in activities to practise your skills, be encouraged to continue to practise when you are away from the classroom and receive lots of encouragement to help you build both your skills and your confidence.
As well as working in groups, you will benefit from regular time working with your tutor, discussing your progress and planning your next steps. They will also tell you about all of the other great opportunities that you have access to including help with developing your skills, joining one of our creative skills classes or sessions to improve your health, wellbeing, confidence or resilience. If you are looking for work or aiming for a change of role, then your tutor will also make you aware of the employability programmes we have available to support you in achieving your employment goals.
Our team will be there to support you at every step of your journey and we always welcome your feedback to help us ensure that you feel safe, happy, supported and welcome.
You don’t need any qualifications or experience to join this course. It’s designed for adults who want to build confidence, feel more positive, and take the first step into learning. Before you start, you’ll have a friendly chat with the tutor to help make sure this course is the right fit for you and your goals.
You don’t need to bring anything with you to take part. We’ll provide all the materials and resources you need. If you’d like to bring a pen and some paper to make notes, you can—but it’s completely optional. Just come as you are. Your tutor will make sure you feel welcome and ready to get started.
At the end of the course, we’ll help you think about what you’d like to do next. This might be another course involving digital skills, volunteering, getting more involved in your community, or preparing for work. You’ll get support to help plan your next steps and keep moving forward.
