Leave Your Maths Fears Behind: Build Confidence That Lasts

If you have ever felt overwhelmed by numbers or had a difficult experience with maths in the past, this course is built entirely for you. We know that traditional classrooms do not work for everyone, and that adult learners bring varied life experiences to the table. This 10-week, supportive course is specifically tailored to welcome adults who want to rebuild their confidence, overcome past anxieties, fill in gaps in your knowledge and master the practical mathematics needed for everyday life.

During this course, you will transform the way you think about and interact with numbers. You will discover how maths directly impacts your personal and professional world, making every lesson relevant and meaningful. Completing this learning opportunity will empower you to make data-driven life choices with total independence and absolute certainty.

By joining our collaborative community of learners, you will benefit from a judgment-free, personalised space where you can study at a pace that matches your unique learning preference.

What We Will Achieve Together

During this course, you will:

  • Conquer your maths anxiety by working in a supportive, relaxed environment that celebrates mistakes as part of the natural learning journey.
  • Identify and fill in the gaps in your knowledge to smoothly prepare you for future accredited pathways and official qualifications.
  • Master everyday financial tasks like managing household budgets, understanding bills, and calculating retail discounts or percentages with ease.
  • Take control of daily decisions by learning how to extract information from charts, interpret graphs, and evaluate risks using basic probability.
  • Solve real-world spatial problems by calculating exact dimensions, perimeters, areas, and volumes for trade, DIY, or household tasks.
  • Gain a network of peer support through engaging group activities, allowing you to share experiences and build collective confidence.
  • Unlock a positive attitude toward numbers that inspires you to keep learning, growing, and advancing your skills long after our 10 weeks together.

What will I learn?

This course builds confidence and provides a solid foundation in mathematics, making it easier to tackle everyday problems and decisions.

  • You will identify which areas you have skills gaps in e.g. arithmetic operations, understanding fractions, decimals, and percentages, geometric shapes, measurement, data handling, or probability.
  • You will develop problem-solving skills and apply math to real-world scenarios. Emphasizing practical applications, the course makes learning relevant and meaningful.
  • You will also engage in group activities and discussions, benefiting from peer support and shared learning experiences, enriching your educational journey, and providing a network of support.

How much will it cost?

As well as working in groups, you will benefit from regular time working with your tutor, discussing your progress and planning your next steps. They will also tell you about all of the other great opportunities that you have access to including help with developing your skills, joining one of our creative skills classes or sessions to improve your health, wellbeing, confidence or resilience.
