What will I learn?

On this course you will learn how to:

• Explain the purpose of a covering letter and how it supports a CV in job applications.
• Identify the key features and structure of an effective covering letter.
• Analyse a job advert to determine what the employer is looking for.
• Draft a personalised covering letter tailored to a specific job.
• Edit, proofread and improve your covering letter to produce a final version that is ready to send with a job application.

What do I need to join the course?

You don’t need any qualifications or experience to join this course. Before you start you will have a chat with one of our advisors to make sure this is the right course for you.

What do I need to provide for the first session?

You will need to bring a notebook and pen, as well as details of your education and employment history.
