Curious about colour and how artists use harmony and opposites to make it work? Come along to this relaxed three-hour taster workshop and discover just how much you can create from a few simple colours.
You'll get hands-on with colour mixing, experiment with different combinations and discover some simple ways to control colour which can change the look and feel of your artwork. No previous art experience is needed – just come along, have a go and enjoy being creative.
What will I learn?
During this taster workshop, you will be introduced to the basics of colour through simple, practical art activities. You will explore how colours work together and experiment with mixing colours to create different shades, tones and effects. With guidance and demonstrations from your tutor, you’ll have the opportunity to experiment with watercolour and gouache paints and discover some of the different effects you can achieve with each.

What do I need to join the course?
No previous art experience is required. This course is suitable for complete beginners as well as those looking to develop their existing skills and confidence in using colour. The session is designed to give you an enjoyable introduction to working with colour, build your confidence and inspire you to continue developing your skills, on our Art: About Colour – Watercolour and Gouache course.

All the art materials you need to take part will be provided.
