Come along and enjoy being creating your own pottery pieces & develop your inner talents using clay.
These sessions are ideal for experienced potters and give you the opportunity to slow down, become absorbed in your handiwork and confidently make your pottery in a relaxed and welcoming studio space with other enthusiastic potters.
During the course and with support from an experienced tutor you will build your confidence in expressing your personal clay designs and exploring different styles of making and decoration as well as continuing to improve the finish of your work to a high standard.
During these sessions, which will be both calming and rewarding, you will have the opportunity to take quality time for yourself, meet with like-minded people and experience the satisfaction of making beautiful and practical items for your home and garden.
What will I learn?
During these hours, you will learn new techniques in forming clay to extend and improve your existing knowledge in making new shapes and clay designs.
You will experiment with coloured engobes, coloured slips and stencils to decorate your greenware. After the bisque firing you will also learn new glazing techniques to experiment and layer on your work to finish the surfaces.
You will have the opportunity to join together different sections of your own hand made parts and develop sculptural forms for hanging or mounting.
Some previous experience is needed – the sessions are designed to give you enjoyable time to work with clay, develop your decorative colour skills, build your confidence and inspire you to continue manipulating clay to our satisfaction.

What do I need to join the course?
No previous art experience is required. This course is suitable for complete beginners as well as those looking to develop their existing skills and confidence in using colour.
What do I need to provide for the first session?
All the art materials you need to take part will be provided.
