This course builds upon your existing foundation and ignites your artistic spark. Through 10 engaging hours, you'll delve deeper into exposure control, pushing the boundaries to achieve captivating and unique effects. You’ll learn in a friendly, relaxed and inclusive environment with guidance from an experienced tutor. Sessions will include demonstrations, explanations and practical activities, with opportunities to ask questions, practise your skills and learn alongside others. You’ll be encouraged to work at your own pace, and your tutor will provide support and feedback to help you develop your skills and confidence.

You should have a good understanding of how to use your camera to take an image and change the settings of your camera for different effects. If you want to brush up on the basics before starting, you could attend our Photography: The Basics course to learn more about how to use your camera effectively or our Photography: Camera Settings to learn more about how to adjust the settings to maximise effect.
Please bring your own camera with you. You might also find it useful to bring a notebook and pen.
Once you've completed this course, you may wish to continue developing your photography skills by progressing onto our Photography: Genre Mastery course. Your tutor will be happy to explain the progression opportunities available and help you choose the next course that's right for you.
