Ever wondered how to make your presentations more engaging and interactive? If so then this session could be just what you are looking for. We encourage you to bring with you a presentation you are currently working on and then we will show you the main tricks and tips to make sure that the software works for you. This course is aimed at a beginners level, so you do not need to be proficient in the use of PowerPoint or other presentation software to benefit from this course.

What do I need to join the course?

This course is aimed at a beginners level, so you do not need to be proficient in the use of PowerPoint, however it would be useful if you had an interest in developing your presentation slides and had used a computer/laptop before. When we receive your application to join this course we will contact you to discuss your current level of ability and find out more about what you are hoping to learn on the course. To join this course you will need to talk with a tutor prior to enrolment to make sure it is an appropriate course for you. You will also need to discuss this with your line manager and then apply via UnitE.

In order to join this virtual learning course you will need: 

A reliable internet connection, a webcam / camera and a computer/Laptop/Tablet, you may also choose to use a headset or earphones with a microphone attachment. It is likely you will need access to your workplace systems to try out any skills learnt.  You may also wish to have a notepad and pen available for making any notes.  You should ensure that you have a suitable place to study that is free from any distractions.

You will need to have access to Microsoft Teams, which is available as a free download.

What do I need to bring with me to the first session?

Throughout the session you will have the opportunity to ask questions and make your own notes so please have a notepad and pen available. You should have a willingness to engage with the activities and try out new tools within the presentation software to develop your skills further./p>

How will I be taught?

This course will be delivered virtually by an experienced tutor using a variety of methods. The sessions will include demonstrations as well as group activities and individual exercises, set within the context of a typical work environment.

What will I learn?

On this course you will learn how to:

  • Apply presentation software techniques to enhance your presentations and slides
  • Identify improvements within your presentations and suggest things you would change
  • Evaluate techniques that will help you develop your future presentations
