Over the six weeks of the course you’ll learn with a small group of like-minded people and one of our friendly, knowledgeable tutors in a way that suits you.
The safety of our learners and staff is our top priority and we’ve made some big changes to our centres, from socially-distanced training rooms to staggered start times. Although things will look different, our staff will be as friendly and helpful as ever and we’re really excited to welcome learners back.
If you’re concerned about visiting one of our centres, please get in touch so we can discuss it with you.
Once we receive your application a CIA will give you a call to discuss if this is the right course and level for you. Ideally you will have completed the Computers for beginners course and have basic computer skills, such as turning a computer on/off and how to use your mouse effectively to open applications. You should ideally have access to a computer to practise between taught sessions.
You should have a willingness to learn and carry out activities within a group as well as individually. It would also be useful to bring a notebook and pen to make your own notes.
This course will be delivered by an experienced tutor in one of our computer suites. The sessions will include demonstrations as well as group activities and individual exercises.
You may want to continue learning computer and digital skills by attending our Improve your computer and digital skills course, where you can choose to develop your skills in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and email further. You could also choose from one of our other ICT themed courses such as online shopping or recognising scams and associated risks.
You can find more information on the Financial help and additional support page or you can contact us to talk about this and any other support we can provide.
