On this course you will be equipped with a detailed understanding of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). Studying via distance learning means you can choose when and where you study. We ensure you get all the support you need throughout your course in the form of a personal Tutor and a Learner Support Advisor. To be awarded this qualification, learners are required to successfully achieve 5 mandatory units.

You will also look at how a person-centred approach can benefit individuals living with SEND, how SEND conditions can affect learning and how to support those living with SEND and their families.

If you choose to join this Level 2 self-directed eLearning course you’ll be supported by our dedicated staff throughout your learning journey and will receive support and feedback from your assessor at each stage of your learning.
During your learning your assessor and our support staff will keep in touch with you give you advice to support you with your next steps and they’ll also tell you about all of the other learning opportunities that you have access to, including help with developing your maths and English skills, joining one of our creative skills classes or sessions to improve your health, wellbeing, confidence or resilience. If you are looking for work or aiming for a change of role, then we will also make you aware of the employability programmes we have available to support you in achieving your employment goals.

You don’t need to have any experience of Special Educational Needs and Disability, just an interest in the subject and the personal commitment needed to complete the course in your own time.
This course does not naturally lead onto a longer course, however if you feel that you need more support in this area, our mental toughness and resilience course, the Level 2 certificate in Awareness of mental health problems may be the right next step for you.
You might like to develop your employability skills to help you to apply for a job or to progress within your current workplace; our range of short employability courses can help you to write or update your CV, search for team leadership jobs or to develop your interview skills so you can apply for jobs with confidence.
You may decide to improve your skills or work towards a qualification in English, maths or IT, or you may wish to consider further self-directed qualifications.
