Maybe you are thinking of a new career or you want to explore how gaining valuable counselling skills can help in your everyday life or work? On this free virtual course, you will have an introduction to counselling before deciding whether you want to continue to learn more.
Enthusiasm to learn more! You do not need to have any previous experience or knowledge of counselling to join this course.
As the course is being delivered virtually through Microsoft Teams you will need to ensure that you are able to connect to the internet, have a web browser (e.g. Google chrome, Microsoft Edge) and are able to follow the links to take part in the virtual activities. This will include having some basic computer skills, including being able to use a keyboard and mouse.
This course is delivered via virtual learning on Microsoft Teams. You will not need to attend any classroom delivery but you will need to commit to attending the virtual sessions at the specified dates and times. In order to participate in the virtual sessions you will need access to the following:
If you are unsure about how to join a virtual learning session please contact us as soon as possible, but at the latest 2 working days prior to your course starting. We will then arrange for one of our Personal Advisors to contact you and talk you through how to access the sessions.

You will be taught and supported online by a specialist tutor and will take part in a range of activities including paired, group and individual work.
By the end of the course you will understand what counselling is all about and identify skills that may be beneficial in your work setting and personal life. You will also have the opportunity to find out what other courses are available, should you decide that you want to continue to learn more.
Once you’ve attended this course you’ll be in a position to decide whether you wish to continue to learn more about counselling. If so then you may wish to progress to one of our other counselling courses and your tutor will give you more information about this in the session.
