Making art can be a great way to relax and get away from your daily stresses. But it can be difficult to get caught up in creating something ‘good’, and that can be stressful in itself.

On this course, you’ll learn different art techniques, and work on your own personal project to help you express your thoughts and encourage relaxation.

Equally importantly you’ll learn how to make room for art in your everyday life, and how this can have an positive effect on your health and wellbeing, helping you to focus, feel calm and take notice of the world around you. You’ll also be shown how to let go of the results of your art-making, and focus on the positive effects of the act of creating.

So whether you already enjoy creating art but don’t find the time, or you want to be creative but don’t know how to start, this course will help you to create something that’s just for you.

What will I learn?

  • how to use art as a means of relaxation
  • how to record your progress using a personal journal
  • how to create a ‘mood’ board’ using a variety of different materials
  • how to use a colour wheel
  • how to use different materials to effectively express your feelings
