Are you interested in leading teams? Would you like to inspire and support other team players, colleagues etc? Is so, then this free Try course will give you an opportunity to meet one of our tutors, find out more about our Level 2 Certificate in Principles of Team Leading qualification and gain an overview of what team leading is and what it involves, from managing a team’s workload to motivating team members, as well understanding how different types of leadership can impact a team’s performance so you can decide whether you’d like to explore the subject further.

What will I learn?

You will learn more about the role of a team leader as this course has been designed for learners who want the knowledge and understanding required to successfully lead a team should you decide to follow this career path. This will focus on the study of leading a team in a business environment.

What do I need to join the course?

Enthusiasm to learn more! You do not need to have any previous experience of working in Leadership to attend this course.

What do I need to provide for the first session?

We recommend that you bring a notebook and a pen with you.

What could I do next?

Should you decide that you’d like to learn more and work towards the Level 2 Certificate in Principles of Team Leading, you’ll be signposted to one of our Learner Experience Advisors prior to enrolling on the course, where you’ll be able to receive information, advice and guidance related to your course; they’ll also discuss your learning goals with you and answer any questions you may have.

Alternatively, you might like to develop your employability skills to help you to apply for a job or to progress within your current workplace; our range of short employability courses can help you to write or update your CV, search for team leadership jobs or to develop your interview skills so you can apply for jobs with confidence.

You may decide to improve your skills or work towards a qualification in English, maths or IT, or you may wish to consider further self-directed qualifications, such as the Level 2 certificate in Awareness of mental health problems.

Alternatively, you may decide to learn about counselling, neurodiversity or speaking confidently in public. You could also choose to explore our wider course offer, which includes topics such as photography, arts and crafts and mindfulness.
