Do you want to learn how to start turning your unwanted items into extra cash and sell online? If so, then this online selling course could be just what you are looking for.

Come along with an item, or one in mind, that you want to sell (maybe an unwanted gift or something that you no longer have use for) and let our expert tutor show you how to go through the process.

From identifying a suitable selling platform, taking photographs of the item, setting up an account, to packaging the sold item for delivery and leaving reviews - this session has it all covered.

What do I need to join the course?

You should be confident and familiar with using a device like a laptop, smartphone or tablet and connecting to the internet.

What do I need to provide for the first session?

You will get the best experience from this course if you bring along an item that you wish to sell (if appropriate) or at least have something specific in mind.

You might find a notebook and pen useful if you like to make notes.

Please feel free to bring along your own device if you have one (laptop, tablet or smartphone).

How will I be taught?

This course will be delivered by an experienced tutor in one of our computer suites. The sessions will include demonstrations as well as group activities and individual exercises.

What will I learn?

You will learn:

  • about a selection of online selling platforms
  • how to set up an account with an online retailer
  • how to photograph items and write a sales blurb
  • how to package your item and get postage quotes
  • about payment options available

What could I do next?

You could choose another course from our range of digital themes, such as: e-safety, Protecting yourself from cyber risks or Recognising scams and associated risks. You may also want to continue learning computer and digital skills by attending our Improve your computer and digital skills course, where you can choose from a range of accredited options.

Can we help you to learn?

You can find more information on the Financial help and additional support page or you can contact us to talk about this and any other support we can provide.
