ESOL – Cultures and celebrations in the UK - beginners (14B49AL/23)

What do I need to join the course?

If you are a new learner you will need to meet with one of our team who will talk to you about the course and help you to get started. If you have already attended one of our classes your tutor will advise you on the areas you need to work on and practise.

What do I need to bring with me to the first session?

It would be helpful to bring a notebook and a pen. If you have already attended one of our other courses bring along any work you have.

How will I be taught?

You will be taught in English from the beginning and will be encouraged to speak in English. With the tutor’s help you will work on your own skills and take part in small group activities.

What will I learn?

On this course you will talk, listen and learn about British culture, celebrations and values as well as those of other countries and cultures. You will create your own mini dictionary to use for words relating to British culture and values.

What could I do next?

There are lots of courses available that include a range of topics that you may want to learn more about. Towards the end of this course you and your tutor will decide what is the best next step for you.
