Creating something new and unique using patchwork and quilting techniques is really satisfying – and it’s great for the environment too, meaning that old clothes and fabrics can be reused instead of thrown away.

On this free Try session you’ll learn the basics of this absorbing and traditional craft, using a sewing machine as well as trying out some hand stitching too. You’ll even make your own unique piece to take home with you.

Then if you enjoy the session, you’ll have the opportunity to find out about how you can take your learning further, with one of our more in-depth courses.

What will I learn?

We will look at the basics of using templates and cutting shapes.

You will:

  • try making patchwork by hand and by machine.
  • be introduced to simple quilting for your patchwork by hand and by machine.
  • try basic appliqué.
  • be able to make a decision as to whether or not you want to progress to the next course

How much will it cost?

This course is FREE.
