Feeling comfortable online, but ready to do more? This course, "Using the Internet for Life Skills" takes you on a journey to unlock the internet's full potential for your daily life.
You already know how to navigate websites and search engines, but what if the internet could be your one-stop shop for everything from mastering new skills to conquering everyday tasks? This course opens your eyes to the vast online resources available to simplify your life, support your passions, and empower you to achieve more.
With one of our experienced tutors, you will discover hidden gems and online tools that can transform the way you approach everyday activities. For example, you might want to learn how to find repair guides, instructional videos, and step-by-step tutorials for everything from home maintenance to basic car care. If you have a hobby, you can learn how to find online communities, access instructional materials, and discover inspiration to take your passions to the next level. We will even teach you how to use the internet to simplify your daily tasks. Learn to navigate online booking forms, find reliable information on health and wellness topics, and even access government services electronically.

If you choose to join this course you will be supported by our dedicated staff, learn in a small friendly and welcoming group, have the opportunity to take part in activities to practise your skills, be encouraged to continue to practise when you are away from the classroom and receive lots of encouragement to help you build both your skills and your confidence.
As well as working in groups, you will benefit from regular time working with your tutor, discussing your progress and planning your next steps. They will also tell you about all of the other great opportunities that you have access to including help with developing your skills, joining one of our creative skills classes or sessions to improve your health, wellbeing, confidence or resilience. If you are looking for work or aiming for a change of role, then your tutor will also make you aware of the employability programmes we have available to support you in achieving your employment goals.

A willingness to learn and a positive attitude! You would benefit from knowing how to open the internet and use search engines on your device before attending this course. You might find it helpful to bring a notebook and pen to make some notes to help with your learning. You are also welcome to bring your own smartphone, tablet or laptop for use within this session.
Virtual Learning Only: If you are attending virtually, you will need to make sure you have a suitable PC/laptop to allow you to join the virtual group with your tutor. You should also have your smartphone/tablet to hand as you will be using this during the session.
You can choose to complete some of our other digital courses to improve your computer skills. As a next step, you could choose to learn about managing files and folders on a computer, or even managing your emails on a computer, smartphone or tablet.
