Zentangle is an American method for drawing and is a combination of meditation and art, which promotes concentration and creativity and has been shown to increase personal well-being.

The term Zentangle can be broken down into two words: Zen & Tangle. Repetitive patterns are used in a mindful way thus promoting stress reduction and relaxation.

Zentangle is all about creating patterns or ‘tangles’ with simple dots, lines, curves, orbs, etc. The designs are created on small pieces of paper or "tiles," which can then be arranged with other tiles to form larger designs.

This is a great option to try if you're looking to get creative on a budget - it's designed to be portable, you just need your small "tile" and something to draw with.

In this session we will look briefly at the history of Zentangle, but you’ll get to spend most of the session creating your own unique designs which you’ll be able to take home with you.

What will I learn?

You will learn:

  • a brief history of Zentangle
  • how to use materials effectively to create Zentangle tiles
  • how to use colour effectively
  • how to create a larger, harmonious image using your Zentangle tiles

How much will it cost?

The course fee is displayed at the top of this page.
