Have you ever fancied having a go at knitting but never quite known where to start? If so, then come along to this FREE session for a beginner’s introduction to the wonderful world of knitting.

You’ll find about different styles of knitting and some of the different equipment you might need; then you’ll learn some simple knitting techniques and make your own quick knit to take home with you.

So, if you’ve always fancied knitting hand-crafted items for yourself or your family and friends and taking up a relaxing and absorbing craft this is the perfect opportunity to find out how to go about it.

What will I learn?

You will begin to understand more about some of the different yarns, needles, and patterns that you can use and have a go at casting on and using a basic knitting stitch. Using these skills, you will produce a small ‘quick knit’ that you can be proud to take away with you after the session.

How much will it cost?

This course is FREE.

As well as working in groups, you will benefit from regular time working with your tutor, discussing your progress and planning your next steps. They will also tell you about all of the other great opportunities that you have access to including help with developing your skills, joining one of our creative skills classes or sessions to improve your health, wellbeing, confidence or resilience.
